Whiteway Preschool are a nursery for children aged between 2 and 5 based in Rottingdean, near Brighton. We were first established in 1978, and have been offering trusted childcare ever since! We are proud of our variation of fun and educational activities run by our team. We are a registered charity, led by our committee of parents. Our parents and teachers work together to ensure the Preschool runs seamlessly.
We have many fun annual events including a Christmas party, sports day, a song concert, a Drusillas day out and an end of year party. Every child has unique needs and we support their individual stage of learning and development using our high quality educational equipment and activities.
Our team are qualified and experienced. We are dedicated to providing children with high quality care and education. Thanks to our high ratio of adults to children, we are able to offer individual care.
Our opening hours are as follows:
Mondays: 8:45am - 3:00pm
Tuesdays: 8:45am - 1:00pm
Wednesdays: 8:45am - 3:00pm
Thursdays: 8:45am - 1:00pm
Fridays: 8:45am - 1:00pm
The children in our care partake in a wide range of activities every day. We have group activities such as a story, reading or playing instruments. We also have outdoor activities like construction resources, bikes and more.
We always advocate for healthy eating. Every child receives a mid-morning snack (usually toast, fruit, vegetables and milk) and lunch.
We often take the children on short walks and we invite parents to partake in certain activities such as baking or cooking. Take a look at our daily routine for a schedule of a usual day at Whiteway Pre-school.
We prioritise keeping the children safe and secure at all times. Our premises are kept secure and the main entrance is locked at all times. Every child is valued as an individual at our Pre-school. We are registered to care for 24 children per session between 2 and 5. Our adult to child ratio always meets and often exceeds the legal requirements.
Our usual sessions run from 8:45am until 1:00pm at the charge of £20. On both Mondays and Wednesdays, we are open until 3pm and the charge for the whole session is £35.
All fees for the term must be paid in full during the first week of every term (or we can arrange weekly payments).
You will be eligible for the Government Early Years Funding from the term after your child's 3rd birthday. This covers up to 15 hours per week. We also receive funding for 2 year olds who fit the government criteria which covers up to 15 hours per week.
Children who attend for over 15 hours per week are charged at £6 per hour. Please see more information about funding.
