Welcome to Whiteway Pre-School! We are based in Rottingdean, near Peacehaven. We first opened in 1978 and since then have been offering exceptional child care for 2-5 year olds ever since. We are a registered charity, which is run by our amazing committee of parents. The parents and teachers work together to ensure the nursery runs smoothly. We are proud to offer educational, fun activities for all of our children.
We are proud to host a diverse range of annual events including a Christmas Party (with Father Christmas), a song concert, a sports day, a Drusillas zoo outing and an end of year party. All of our teaching is tailored to every child's unique needs to support their individual stage of learning and development.
Our team are experienced and qualified, offering only the best care and education for your child. We offer a high ratio of adults to children, which allows us to offer individual care.
Our opening hours are as follows:
Mondays: 8:45am - 3:00pm
Tuesdays: 8:45am - 1:00pm
Wednesdays: 8:45am - 3:00pm
Thursdays: 8:45am - 1:00pm
Fridays: 8:45am - 1:00pm
We offer a range of activities for our children each day. We have group activities such as story reading or playing musical instruments. We also have plenty of outdoor activities such as bikes, construction resources and more. We prioritise healthy eating - all of our children receive a mid-morning snack (usually toast, fruit and vegetables and milk) and lunch.
We occasionally take the children on short educational walks. Also, we invite parents to join in on activities such as cooking and baking. Please take a look at our daily routine in more detail.
The children's safety is always of the highest priority at Whiteway Preschool. We always provide a secure environment for our children where they feel valued and safe. We are registered to take care of 24 children between the ages of 2 and 5. Our adult to child ratio often exceeds the legal requirements. We have a secure premises which the main entrance is kept locked at all times.
Our standard sessions run from 8:45am to 1:00pm and cost £20. On Mondays and Wednesdays, we are open until 3:00pm and the session charge is £35.
Every term must be paid in full during the first week of each term (or we can arrange weekly payments).
We accept Government Early Years Funding for children from the term after their 3rd birthday. This funding currently covers up to 15 hours per week. We also receive funding for 2 year olds who fulfil the government criteria for up to 15 hours per week.
For over 15 hours per week, attendance is charged at £6 per hour. Please visit our fees and funding page for further information.
